FreedomPop, an upcoming Internet provider from US made a headline announcement recently to the effect that the company will be offering a breakthrough broadband Internet package with a whopping 1GB free data offer. Clearwire WiMax will be powering the Internet network.

As a part of the launching and announcement of the campaign, FreedomPop is already accepting new subscriber pre-orders for the company’s proprietary FreedomPop Hub Burst modem. The company is planning to ship out their orders starting from the beginning of January. According to the company this new service is expected to deliver ultra-high speed Internet to small offices and homes as speed levels exceeding the typical DSL service and therefore will be on par with the major cable Internet providers’ service caliber.

At a time when most smartphones are also offering 1GB free usage, it may not sound as much of a tempting offer for some Internet users. The benefit you have with the FreedomPop offer is the unlimited data bundle usage for every month. This can be done through a referral program of introducing new members to the network or by taking part in the various FreedomPop partner promotions that will be on.

Heavy Internet users have the opportunity of electing from different packages that start at a rate of $10 per month inclusive of free data usage up to 10GB. The company will also have on offer pay-as-you-go solutions starting at $5 per 1GB. These rates put the company at a competitive edge in terms of pricing as no other rival Internet provider has matching low rates. Talking about the high rate charges of competitors, Stephen Stokols, CEO FreedomPop has said that some of the major broadband Internet providers like AT&T, Comcast, Verizon and Time Warner Cable were on a consumer pillaging campaign with charges over $500 every year. ‘Consumers are now looking for more affordable and convenient ways of consuming data. We have already provided over 15 million megabytes of free data and now we are expanding the Beta in order to meet the increased demand for data consumption during the holiday season’ he added.  FreedomPop was established in 2011 and is financially backed by Atomico, Mangrove Capital and DCM.
